GOLDEN HORSESHOE CONFERENCE
The Niagara Falls Canucks entered the week one of the hottest teams in the GOJHL and with wins over St. Catharines 2-1 and Welland 6-1, the Canucks had reeled off an 8-game winning streak. The Ancaster Avalanche ended the Canucks’ streak on Saturday night with a 2-1 win on home ice, but the streak was enough to push the Canucks into second place in the Conference and only 2 points behind the first place Caledonia Corvairs, although the Canucks have played the most games in the Conference. Meanwhile, the Thorold Blackhawks were 2-0 last week and have won 3 straight to move past Welland and Pelham into fifth.
