It's been a magical 2017 for New Jersey Jackals center fielder Johnny Bladel.

In Bladel's second season with the club, he came away with two player of the week awards, was named to the All-Star team and more importantly, was the catalyst at the top of the order to lead New Jersey back to the postseason.

Now, Bladel adds another piece of hardware to his special year.

Batting .345 with 135 hits, Bladel won the Can-Am League batting title edging out Quebec's Maxx Tissenbaum by .001. Tissenbaum, a catcher, finished with a .344 mark.

Bladel became the first batting title winner with the Jackals in franchise history.

Moreover, he finished atop the leader board with runs scored (95) which set a league record for the most in a single season.

He also was tied for first in doubles (29) and triples (7).

Bladel now will look to continue his red hot regular season into the post season.

The Jackals open up the first round of the playoffs against the Rockland Boulders on Thursday night from Yogi Berra Stadium.

First pitch is set for 7:05.
