MABF Bat Standard

MABF will once again follow USSSA bat standards with one exception being the 14U age group (please see 14U below). If USSSA approves a bat, it may be used for league play. If USSSA does not approve a bat, it may not be used. You can read the details by clicking the link:  USSSA Baseball Bat Standards 2018

8U through 13U MABF Bat standards:

Bats stamped with the USSSA mark and use the 1.15 BPF standard used in 13U and below (allowing diameters of up to 2¾”).

14U to 18U MABF Bat standards:

MABF follows NFHS rules (USSSA Rules do not apply for our 14U).  The BBCOR standard is still in effect for 14U to 18U.

MABF is aware that several youth baseball associations have announced or are planning to announce that they are going to a new wood-like bat (marked with a USA Baseball mark) as their performance standard.

As an accommodation to MABF teams and players who may also play in non-MABF and non-USSSA events, beginning in 2018 USA Baseball marked bats manufactured by a USSSA authorized manufacturer will be allowed in MABF play.
