BROCKTON, MA—August 4th, 2017— The Brockton Rox and the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks went the distance tonight and faced off in a home run derby. The Sharks won the home run derby.

Both teams battled all game long. Highlights for the Rox (31-21) included RBIs from Chris Berry (North Florida), Tommy O’Hara (Tufts University), and Nick Garland (Central Connecticut State). The Rox rallied in the bottom of the 8th inning to score three runs and tie the game up at 8-8.

Martha’s Vineyard (26-27) were led by Jake Martin (Trinity U) who had two RBIs and two runs scored for the Sharks.

The Rox will be back at Campanelli Stadium on Sunday afternoon to take on the North Shore Navigators in the final regular season game for the Rox.

The Brockton Rox are a member of the Futures Collegiate Baseball summer league made up of elite New England collegiate athletes competing in a minor league style format.
