Suns skid continues, blow lead in 9th 8-5

The Pittsfield Suns (26-25-1) blew a 2 run lead in the ninth against the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (29-22), dropping their 4th straight 8-5.

Mike Coggeshall started off the game with a blast. Literally. A 2-run homer to right in the 1st.

Suns got another run off an RBI fielder's choice in the 2nd.

Dirt Dawgs would get a run back by another Coggeshall homer; a solo shot.

Suns would eventually take the lead starting with an 2 RBI single by Greg Cavaliere in the 4th. Kevin Donati joined the fray with an RBI single in the 6th.

The Dirt Dawgs would rally in the 9th for 5 runs to win the game 8-5

Nick Dombrowski (1-1) got the win. Austin Wednt (2-3) got the loss and blown save. An unidentified pitcher received the save. Alex Carusotto got a hold.

The Elser Animal Control Pest Player of the Game went to Alex Carusotto, who pitched 2 shutout innings, giving up 1 hit, 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts.

The Pittsfield Suns try to turn it around tomorrow in Lynn, MA against the North Shore Navigators. Game time is slated for 6 PM.
