Westerman's 2 HR help Suns quad up Silver Knights 8-2.

The Pittsfield Suns (24-19-1) knocked off the Nashua Silver Knights (22-22) with help of Jacob Westerman's bat by score of 8-2.

Behind Mitch Holcomb's dominant start of 7 total innings, giving up 7 hits, an unearned run, and a strikeout, the Suns were able to take the lead and keep it starting in 3rd. Brandon Janofsky hit an RBI single, followed by a bases-clearing double by Sean Phelan.

The Silver Knights would plate an unearned run in the bottom frame on an RBI base knock by Cam Cook.

Jacob Westerman would hit his first home run (a solo homer) in the 6th, with the other coming with by virtue of a two-run bomb in the 8th, to go with Andre Marrero scoring on an error by the catcher.

Nashua could only plate one more run in the 9th with a bases-loaded walk to Ethan Joyce.    

Mitch Holcomb (3-1) got the win. Shane Kittila (1-3) got the loss.

 

The Elser Animal Control Pest Player of the Game went to Jacob Westerman, who went 2-5 with 2 round-trippers for 3 RBI.

The Pittsfield Suns return home to face the Sharks of Martha's Vineyard on Saturday, July 29th. Gates open at 6 PM. First pitch is slated for 7 PM. It's Oktoberfest, so be sure to enjoy a few adult beverages.
