Bravehearts Welcome Alex Dion to 2018 Coaching Staff
Date: Feb 1, 2018
The Pittsfield Suns (23-19-1) upended the Brockton Rox (23-18-1) via a walk-off home run derby win by score of 10-10, 9-8.
After a see saw game that saw 3 lead changes and 2 ties, the home run derby was inevitable.
Kyle Simon took a big chunk of offense in the derby with 8 home runs.
The Suns put Andre Marrero up first, who had only one. Alex Parkos relieved him, but also had one. Marrero was about to go back out, but Sean Phelan went out instead and proved beneficial, hit 7 homers to put the number at 9-8.
The Elser Animal Control Pest Player of the Game went to Sean Phelan, who went 1-3 with 2 runs, an RBI, 3 walks (1 BB, 1 HBP, and 1 IBB), and if it wasn't for his 7 homers, the Suns would not have won in the home run derby.
The Pittsfield Suns will travel down the Mass Pike to take on the Worcester Bravehearts on Thursday, July 27th. Gates open at 6 PM. First pitch is slated for 7 PM.
