CCHL REALIGNMENT LANDS COLTS IN YZERMAN DIVISION

July 25th, 2017

Cornwall – For the first time in their history, the Cornwall Colts will call the Yzerman Division home beginning this season (2017-18).

The move is part of the realignment of divisions for the CCHL.

This puts Colts in the same division as the Cumberland Grads, Nepean Raiders, Ottawa Jr. Senators, Rockland Nationals (formerly the Gloucester Rangers).  The Colts are joined by former Robinson Division rivals the Hawkesbury Hawks.

The Robinson Division will consist of the Brockville Braves, Carleton Place Canadians, Kanata Lasers, Kemptville 73’s, Pembroke Lumber Kings and the Smiths Falls Bears.

The Yzerman Division is named after Hockey Hall of Fame member and Nepean Alumni Steve Yzerman.

The Robinson Division is named after Hockey Hall of Fame member and Brockville Alumni Larry Robinson.

Each CCHL team will play a 62 game schedule with 6 games against division rivals as well as 2 other division teams and 5 games against the remaining 4 teams from the other division.

The playoff format remains unchanged with the top 8 teams seeded regardless of division standings in a 1-8 best of seven quarter final.

Colts season tickets are on sale now by calling 613-930-9300 or at the Colts office downstairs at the Cornwall Civic Complex.
