Date:  Source: FCBL: Pittsfield Suns

The Pittsfield Suns (22-18-1) nabbed their 4th straight win and 3rd game in a row with 13 runs to overload the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (21-18) in a 4 point swing game by way of a 13-6 victory.

The Dirt Dawgs were on the board first. Jack Gethings knocked in a run on a single in the 3rd.

The Suns would then become infected by the hitting disease. Scott Holzwasser's RBI double tied it in the 4th. Brandon Janofsky's 3-run blast put the Suns up 4-1 in the 5th. Holzwasser hit a 2-run shot in the 6th as well, putting the Suns up 6-1

Dirt Dawgs would counter with a Mike Coggeshall RBI double in the 6th.

Suns were not fazed and grabbed a few more in the 7th. An Andre Marrero RBI single, Jacob Westerman sacrifice fly, and a Justin Cooke RBI single, put the Suns up 9-2.

Dirt Dawgs, again, would counter in the bottom frame. Gethings knocked in 2 RBI with a single.

Suns would continue to trade with the Dirt Dawgs in the 8th and 9th. In the 8th, Andre Marrero would get a 2 RBI single and Brandon Janofsky would score on an error by the pitcher for the Suns. The Dirt Dawgs got an RBI off a single by Joe Jumonville. Suns would grab one last run in the 9th with Janofsky RBI double. Izaiya Mestre's only blemish in 1.1 innings was one hit: a solo homer by Gethings.

Jordan Muchin (1-1) got the win. Dan Southerland (1-3) got the loss. Gage Feeney received the hold.

The Elser Animal Control Pest Player of the Game went to Scott Holzwasser, who went 2-3 with a home run, double, sacrifice fly, walk, and 4 RBI.

The Pittsfield Suns will host the Bristol Blues on Sunday, July 23rd. Gates open at 4 PM. First pitch is slated for 5 PM.
