Players of the Week!
Date: Jul 1, 2025
The Senior Tritons battled the Blaze in the first round of playoffs this weekend hoping for a chance to compete in the Final 5 in Coquitlam. Unfortunately, the team fell short in Game 1 and then lost a heartbreaker in Game 2 as they tried to force a rubber on Sunday. The bounces have not gone the Tritons way for a couple weeks now but the Coaches are proud of the players and the experience the younger kids got playing in the playoffs as they look ahead to next season. With 10 Seniors moving on, the playoff run was an emotional end to the season as we had grown into a strong family as the season progressed.
Our other two clubs, the Jr. and Bantam Prep teams are still going strong and now preparing for their upcoming playoff games.
The Jr. club under Coach Broatch will play the Whalley Chiefs in their last game of the season this Tuesday and end up with the #2 ranking in league standings. The Junior squad will take on the #7 placed team, the Coquitlam Redlegs, in the first round of the playoffs. The series will start Saturday, July 22nd at 12pm at SSAP and be a best of three. It’s been a strong season for the guys and they’re ready to rumble in hopes of bringing home a provincial crown. If the Jr. team can get by the Redlegs, they will make their way to Victoria to participate in the Provincial Championships starting on July 27th.
GOOD LUCK JUNIORS!
The Bantam Prep Club finished 6th in the Prep league with their 21- 19 record and will now be preparing for an upcoming Provincial qualifier tournament in Whalley starting on July 27th. Although the club made a great push in the last month of the season, it’s the top 5 teams in the standings that automatically head to Provincials while all other teams get another chance to qualify by winning the tournament. Coach MacDougall feels it’s a great opportunity for the guys to play more baseball and feels good about how the guys are playing going into the postseason.
GOOD LUCK PREP!
