BROCKTON, MA—July 12th, 2017—The Brockton Rox lost their morning game today against the Nashua Silver Knights by a score of 13-7. The teams played through a 34-minute rain delay in the top of the 3rd inning.

Before the rain delay, the Silver Knights (17-17) got on the board first, scoring one run in each of the first two innings highlighted by a RBI single from Andrew Jaenig (Assumption College) in the bottom of the 2nd. Nashua would jump out to a 4-0 before the Rox (19-14) would finally got on the board, scoring three runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. The Rox would then take the lead in the bottom of the 5th, highlighted by two 2-RBI singles from Nick Garland (Central Connecticut State University) and Sam Cochrane (Eckerd College) but would give it right back as Nashua scored six runs in the top of the 6th to take an 11-7 lead. The team would tack on two extra runs in the top of 9th to wrap up the scoring.

The Rox had seven pitchers take the mound including Kevin Connelly (Framingham State) who started the game. The winning pitcher for Nashua was Anthony Lupi (Merrimack College) who pitched two innings, only giving up one run on two hits.

The Rox will be back at Campanelli Stadium tomorrow night to take on the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
