BROCKTON, MA—July 10th, 2017—The Brockton Rox and the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks exchanged runs all game, but the Rox managed to earn an 9-7 win tonight at Campanelli Stadium. The win helps the Rox extend their lead in the East division.

The Rox (19-13) had their bats going early as they put up five runs in the bottom of the 1st inning highlighted by a two-run single by Tommy O’Hara (Tufts University). Tremaine Spears (Louisiana-Lafayette) would add to the lead with a RBI single in the 2nd to make the score 6-0.

The Sharks (15-17) added one run in the 3rd but really got going in the top of the 5th inning when they plated six runs highlighted by a grand slam by Bryce Gray (Notre Dame) that put them ahead 7-6. However, the Rox came right back in the bottom of the inning and scored two runs on back-to-back bases loaded walks. The team later scored an insurance run in the bottom of the 8th off a RBI single from Jake Rosen. (Virginia Tech)
