Bravehearts Welcome Alex Dion to 2018 Coaching Staff

BROCKTON, MA—July 9th, 2017—The Brockton earned their 18th win of the season Sunday afternoon with a victory over the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs by a score of 4-2. This was the Rox’ first game back at Campanelli Stadium since June 29th.
The Rox (18-13) jumped out to an early lead in the 1st inning off a RBI single from Joe Silva (Concordia U-Chicago), his 10th of the season. Wachusett (18-12) would tie the game in the top of the 4th after a leadoff triple by Zach Minnick (Campbell University) followed by a RBI single from Kyle Cala. (Wagner College) The Rox would break the tie in the bottom of the 5th, scoring two runs off a RBI double from Kyle Simon (Palm Beach Atlantic) and a RBI groundout from Nick Garland. (Central CT State University) Aldrich De Jongh (Florida Atlantic) added another run in the bottom of the 8th when he singled to right field, scoring Jake Rosen. (Virginia Tech)
Mason Palmieri (Bryant University) started on the mound for the Rox, pitching the first four innings of the game, giving up one run on four hits. Mike McCaffrey (Wesleyan University) would earn the win for the Rox after coming into the game to pitch in the 5th inning. McCaffrey gave up only one hit and struck out five in his three innings of work.
The Rox will be back at Campanelli Stadium tomorrow night to take on the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
