ROCKLAND- 20 year-old forward Antoine Leblanc will join the Rockland Nationals for the 2017-2018 season. The powerful two-way centerman will help solidify the middle of the ice. The Drummondville, QC native spent the last three seasons with the Sorel-Tracy Rebelles from the QCHL where he helped the team win a championship in 2014-2015. Last season, he collected 15 points in 22 games.

“Antoine fits the mold of players that we want to bring into our organisation. He is incredibly responsible defensively, he brings good size at the center position and he has proven that he can contribute offensively. Best of all, he will be a tremendous leader for our team. Antoine does things the right way and is a team first player,” praised Head Coach and GM Dan Sauvé.

Antoine is excited about the opportunity ahead of him in Rockland. “ Every year is a new one but the objective is always to get as far as possible and that starts with making playoffs,” explained Leblanc. “The team moving to Rockland has created a buzz and we are excited to get the team involved in the community. We hope that bringing hockey back to Rockland will have a snowball effect and that the community will support us by coming out to the games.”

ROCKLAND- L’attaquant de 20 ans Antoine se joint aux Nationals de Rockland pour la saison 2017-2018. Le centre puissant est connu comme un joueur complet et il aidera à solidifier le milieu de la glace. L’originaire de Drummondville au Québec, a évolué pendant les trois dernières années avec les Rebelles de Sorel-Tracy de la QCHL où il a remporté un championnat en 2014-2015. L’an dernier, il a récolté 15 points en 22 matchs.

«Antoine représente le type de joueur que nous espérons recruter dans notre organisation. Il est responsable défensivement, il possède un bon gabarit et il peut produire offensivement. De plus, il sera un leader dans la chambre et sur la glace, » explique l’entraîneur en chef et gérant Dan Sauvé. «Antoine est un joueur honnête et il accorde une grande importance au succès de l’équipe.»

Antoine est extrêmement excité pour le début de la saison à Rockland. « Chaque année est une nouvelle année, l'objectif est de se rendre le plus loin possible, en commençant par faire les séries éliminatoires, » note Leblanc. « L'équipe déménageant à Rockland cette année crée un certain engouement dans la communauté. Il serait intéressant d'impliquer l'équipe dans la communauté pour pouvoir attirer le plus de spectateurs pour avoir une belle atmosphère. Cela pourrait créer un effet boule de neige pour le hockey dans la communauté de Rockland. Je souhaite que l'équipe démarre du bon pied le retour d'une équipe junior dans la ville.»
