The Pittsfield Suns (11-12-1) lost in a see-saw matchup against the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (15-6) 5-4
The Dirt Dawgs scored first in the top of the 4th with an RBI single by Kyle Cala
The Suns would challenge in the bottom of the 4th with a 2 RBI single by Andre Marrero.
The Dirt Dawgs would reclaim the lead the next half inning in the 5th with an RBI ground out by Jack Gethings and a throwing error by the catcher Kyle Beaulieu. They would tack on another run in the 6th with a throwing error by shortstop Hal Hughes.
The Suns would gather a run to cut the deficit with an RBI single by Scott Holzwasser
Dirt Dawgs would get the run back in the 7th with a scorching RBI single by John Stanton.
The run trading would continue in the 7th. Kevin Donati hit a sacrifice fly to left.
Jonathon Gegestskas (2-1) got the win. Bob Hamel (2-1) got the loss. Jo Simeone got the save, his seventh of the season. Both Naushon Galbraith and Mike Demarest collected a hold.
The Elser Animal Control Pest Player of the Game went to Scott Holzwasser, who went 2-3 with an RBI and a walk.
The Pittsfield Suns stay home on Thursday to face the Worcester Bravehearts. Gates open at 6 PM. First pitch is scheduled for 7 PM.
