Oakville, Ontario - The Oakville Blades are pleased to announce that defenceman Matthew Kellenberger has been invited to Vancouver's development camp from July 4th-6th.

Kellenberger, 17, was thrust into the OJHL as a 16-year-old rookie and couldn’t have done a better job. Named the OHA’s Top Prospect Defenceman, Kellenberger scored 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points in 51 games as a Junior A freshmen. Kellenberger played for Team OJHL Coffey at the Eastern Canada  Cup All-Star Challenge and was named MVP for Team East at the CJHL Top Prospects Game.

Kellenberger is the lone OJHL representative on the Vancouver Canucks, who will feature 12 defenceman at their development camp. The camp will take place over three days, concluding with a Summer Showdown Top Prospects Game at Rogers Arena on July 6th.

Misley is the second Blade to get invited to a development camp, with Bryce Misley going to Minnesota's camp after the Wild drafted him on Saturday in Chicago.

Kellenberger will return to the Blades this coming season, so make sure to come check out one of the brightest young stars in the league this September!
