SQUEEZE FALL TO LIGHTNING AT HOME

    WINTER GARDEN, FL. - The Winter Garden Squeeze were defeated by the Leesburg Lightning 7-2 in the second game of the series on Tuesday.

 

    The Lightning got the early lead as Alex Ray (FAU) scored off a wild pitch in the first inning.

 

    The Lightning added on in the third inning as Brent Burgess (Middle Georgia St.) hit a single to bring Tristen Gagan ( SE Missouri St.) home.

 

    Michael Koenig (Coastal Carolina) put up another run for the Lightning in the fourth inning when he was batted in by Peyton Faulkner (SE Missouri St,).

 

    A lead-off home run from Cage Cox (Alabama St.) in the fifth inning gave the Lightning another run.

 

    The Lightning rallied in the sixth inning to put three more runs on the board.

 

    The rally started when Gagan ripped a double to center field to bring Faulkner in. Gagan was then brought home when Cox hit another home run over the right field wall. 

 

    Runs for the Squeeze were put on the board in the sixth inning when Drew Frederic (Troy) hit a sacrifice fly to bring Cody Burgess (Florida Southern) home. Jacob Silverstein (West Florida) also scored on an error by the Lightning.

 

    The Squeeze will play next at home against the Altamonte Springs Scorpions on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
