ROCKLAND-The Rockland Nationals are pleased to announce that they have signed 2001 defenseman Jordan Power from the Toronto Nationals in the GTHL. Rockland acquired Jordan’s rights last season from Ottawa and their staff has been impressed with the young defenseman’s play. Head Coach and General Manager Dan Sauvé sees a lot of potential in Kanata native.

“Jordan has great mind for the game. He sees the ice well, is effective in all areas of the ice and adapts extremely well to different environments. He proved to us at our Prospects Camp that he was more than capable of making the jump to the CCHL” noted Sauvé.

The 14th round OHL pick is excited to get things started in Rockland. He hopes to be a major contributor both offensively and defensively. “ I will work on being very consistent, competing every shift of every game to help us be successful” noted Power. “ My strengths as a hockey player are my hockey IQ and my compete level. I try to keep it simple by retrieving pucks and making a solid first pass. I have an active stick so I can take the puck away from players and I use my skating ability to jump up into the play offensively.”

ROCKLAND- Les Nationals de Rockland sont fiers d’annoncer qu’ils ont conclu une entente avec le jeune défenseur Jordan Power pour la saison 2017-2018. Âgé seulement de 16 ans, Jordan a évolué avec les Nationals de Toronto l’an dernier dans la GTHL. Rockland a acquis ses droits l’an dernier d’Ottawa et le personnel de l’équipe est extrêmement impressionné par son jeu. L’entraîneur en chef et le gérant Dan Sauvé croit que le résident de Kanata démontre un grand potentiel.

«Jordan joue un style cérébral. Il démontre une bonne vision, il est efficace dans toutes les endroits sur la patinoire et il s’adapte rapidement. Lors de notre Camp d’espoir, Jordan a prouvé qu’il était prêt pour le Junior A, » a-t-il ajouté.

Ce dernier fut un choix de 14e ronde au repêchage de la Ligue de Hockey de l’Ontario et il a hâte d'entamer sa carrière junior avec Rockland. « Je vais travailler fort pour être constant avec mes performances et pour garder un haut niveau d’intensité à chaque match afin de contribuer au succès de l’équipe,» a-t-il expliqué. « Mes forces en tant que joueur de hockey sont mon intelligence et ma combativité. Je garde mon jeu simple en récupérant les rondelles et en exécutant des bonnes sorties de zone. J’utilise bien mon bâton pour créer des revirements et j’utilise efficacement mon coup de patin pour me joindre à l’attaque.»
