Black Wolves captain Shawn Evans is currently second in scoring in Major Series Lacrosse with 13 goals and 36 assists for 49 points in seven games. Last week he had four goals and 13 assists in two games for the Peterborough Lakers. The team is the last remaining undefeated MSL team at 8-0 on the season.

He trails New England teammate Reilly O’Connor by 10 points in the scoring race. O’Connor has 59 points for the Brooklyn Redmen – 15 goals and 44 assists – in 10 games. In three games last week, he had four goals and 13 assists.

Also with the Lakers, forward Kyle Buchanan has 39 points on 18 goals and 21 assists. In Peterborough’s two wins last week, he picked up two goals and eight assists. The third member of the Black Wolves spending time in Peterborough this summer is goalie Evan Kirk. In four games, all wins, Kirk has 115 saves to go along with a goals-against-average of just 9.35.

Rounding out the Black Wolves spending time playing in the MSL this summer are Dan Ball, who has one assist in nine games for Brooklin, and Derek Searle, who has dished out four assists in nine games for the Coburg Kodiaks.

Out West, Sheldon Burns has six points on two goals and four assists in eight games for the Victoria Shamrocks. He had one assist in a 10-9 loss to Maple Ridge last week, but the Shamrocks are still in first place with a record of 6-2-1. Also in the Western Lacrosse Association, Matt Spanger picked up two goals and two assists in two games for the Burnaby Lakers. In nine games, Spanger has three goals and six assists for nine points.

In Major League Lacrosse play, Kevin Crowley had four goals in a 18-14 win for the Charlotte Hounds over the Florida Launch. Crowley has 24 points – 18 goals, six assists – in seven games and was the only Canadian player selected to play in the MLL All-Star Game. The game will be played in Sacramento, Calif. on July 8th.

Kevin Buchanan has played in six games for the Boston Cannons, tallying six goals and five assists for 11 points. In a 16-15 loss to the Ohio Machine last week, the Black Wolves forward had three assists. Evans is also spending time in the MLL this summer, but did not play last weekend. In three games for the Chesapeake Bayhawks, he has nine goals and five assists for 14 points.

Bill O’Brien has played in three games for the Onandaga Red Hawks in Can-Am Senior B play, while Seth Oakes has seven points on four goals and three assists in three games for the Tyendinga Thunderbirds in Three Nations Senior Lacrosse. In Senior A action, goalie Doug Jamieson has 12 wins and a goals-against-average of just 6.08 in 14 games for Six Nations.
