Game 1: Long Island 7, North Fork 4

Game 2: Long Island 15, North Fork 0

The Long Island Road Warriors swept a doubleheader over the North Fork Ospreys.

After the Ospreys took a 3-0 in the first inning on a three-run home run by Luke Stampfl (Fordham), the Road Warriors scored three runs in both the second and third innings to take a 6-3 lead.

Long Island’s offense was led by Garrett Heaton (Stony Brook), who had two RBI.  The Road Warriors also had RBI from Michael Veit (Fairleigh Dickinson), Rob Weissheier (Hofstra) and Ben McNeill (NYIT).

Patrick Bryant (SUNY Plattsburgh) pitched a complete game for the Road Warriors in their win.

The Road Warriors offense was dominant in the second game of the doubleheader.

After Sean Rausch (Hofstra) and Ron Linsalato (Queens) hit solo home runs in the first two innings, Long Island’s offense would add four runs in each the third and fourth innings to take a 10-0 lead.

The Road Warriors later added five runs in the sixth inning to complete their scoring on this evening.

Ray Weber (Albany) earned the win for the Road Warriors after pitching six scoreless innings.

Westhampton 6, Riverhead 2

The Westhampton Aviators earned their ninth consecutive win with a 6-2 victory over the Riverhead Tomcats.

Riverhead took a 2-0 lead in the second inning after an RBI double from Jackson Olsen (Hartford) and an error.

Westhampton responded in the fourth inning with a four run inning. Nick Bottari (Southeastern) drove in a run with a double, and Cam Climo (UMass Lowell) brought home three Aviators with a home run.

Tommy Pellis (Pennsylvania) and Matt Hansen (Toledo) drove in runs in the eighth inning to give the Aviators a 6-2 lead. With his RBI, Hansen now has driven in a run in 11 straight ballgames.

This was enough run support for Aaron Glickstein (Stony Brook), who allowed just one earned run and struck out seven batters over seven innings.
