The Pittsfield Suns (10-10-1) couldn't handle the offense of the North Shore Navigators (6-12-1) by a score of 16-6
The Suns only scored in two innings: 5 in the 1st and 1 in the 3rd. The Navigators scored 1 in the 1st, 2 in the 2nd, 5 in the 3rd, 7 in the 5th, and 1 in the 8th.
Evan Glew (1-1) got the win. Nathan Florance (0-2) got the loss. Despite the big lead, Alex Brinkman collected his first save of the season, pitching the final 4 innings.
The Elser Animal Control Pest Player of the Game went to Zack Smith, who went 3-4 and was a home run shy of the cycle with a triple, double, single, 2 runs, and an RBI.
The Pittsfield Suns will host a game on Monday and face the Seacoast Mavericks. Casey Aubin will be on the mound for Seacoast against Pittsfield. Gates open at 6 PM. First pitch is scheduled for 7 PM.
