BROCKTON, MA—June 25th, 2017—The Brockton Rox came out victorious today in their Sunday afternoon (4-1) game against the Nashua Silver Knights at Campanelli Stadium. The win helps the Rox remain alone atop the FCBL East division.

The Rox (12-6) began their scoring in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Tommy O’Hara (Tufts University) blasted a solo home run to right center. Kyle Ruth (SNHU) added a 2-RBI single in the 5th and Sam Cochrane (Eckerd College) got his 7th RBI on the year after ripping an RBI single in the bottom of the 6th. The lone run for Silver Knights (10-9) came in the top of the 1st inning off a Thomas Joyce (Merrimack College) RBI triple.

Cam Monagle (Merrimack College), in his 5th start, earned his first win of the year for the Rox.  Monagle went five innings, allowing only one run on eight hits. Zack Martin (Notre Dame) came in and pitched the remaining four innings for the Rox. Martin allowed only two hits and struck out eight on his way to earning the save.

The Rox will head to Worcester tomorrow night to face the Bravehearts. The team will be back at Campanelli Stadium on Tuesday night to take on the Nashua Silver Knights once again. First pitch will be at 6:35.

The Brockton Rox are a member of the Futures Collegiate Baseball summer league made up of elite New England collegiate athletes competing in a minor league style format.
