The Pittsfield Suns (10-9-1) blew a 5 run lead in the ninth against the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (11-6); who forced an overtime home run derby and defeated the Suns 19-4.

The Suns scored were leading in ninth 10-5 when Jordan Muchin came in relief to close it out. A run scored off a fielder's choice error by the shortstop Hal Hughes. Later in the inning, Zack Tower, who saw nothing but breaking balls, sat on a hanging breaking ball and belted a grand slam. That would be crucial as the Dirt Dawgs forced overtime after no runs in the 10th.

Zack Tower continued to punish his former team by returning Tower Power to Pittsfield, hitting 17 home runs in overtime. Dimartino had an additional 2 home runs. The Suns only gathered 4 off the bats of Cade Cavalli (2), Andre Marrero (1), and Alex Parkos (1).

No pitchers received a decision.

The Elser Animal Control Pest Player of the Game went to Sean Phelan, who went 3-5 with a walk and an RBI.

The Pittsfield Suns have the day off on Saturday. Their next game will be in Lynn, MA to face off against the North Shore Navigators. TBD will get the start for the Suns opposite Navigator's Evan Glew.
