Bravehearts Welcome Alex Dion to 2018 Coaching Staff

BROCKTON, MA—June 20th, 2017—The Brockton Rox and the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks battled it out all game long, but the Rox came out victorious after a late, go-ahead 2 RBI single by Tommy O’Hara (Tufts University) in the bottom of the 8th inning. The Rox closed it out in the 9th and grabbed the 11-9 win.
The Sharks (8-8) got the scoring started first, jumping out to a 4-0 lead by the top of the 3rd inning highlighted by a 3-run HR by Blake Frampton (Trinity University). However, the Rox (10-3) would come right back, scoring five runs in the bottom of the 4th inning capped off by a 3-run HR by Chris Berry (North Florida) The Rox expanded their lead in the 6th inning but the Sharks would bounce right back, scoring four runs of their own in the top of the 7th. Both teams would continue to exchange runs until we had a 9-9 tie going into the bottom of the 8th inning.
With two outs in the inning and two men on, Tommy O’Hara delivered a 2-run RBI single that would end up being the difference maker. David Griffin (Curry College) would come into the 9th to pitch for the Rox and got the final three outs in the 9th, ending the game with a double play.
The Rox will be back at Campanelli Stadium on Thursday when they take on the Worcester Bravehearts (7-7) for a double header. Game 1 is scheduled for a 5:35 start time.
