Date:  Source: Terriers Baseball

Owen MacNeil pitched six outstanding innings, Dante Wright hit a towering two run homer and Matt Ward smashed two doubles as the 16U Terriers came away with a 6-3 victory over the Ontario Royals Saturday night at King's College.

This was a very tight game until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Terriers rallied for four runs‎.

Trailing 1-0 in the third, Matt Ward smacked a double to the fence in right center field, setting the table for Dante Wright's two run bomb to put the Terriers up 2-1.

The ‎Royals scratched out single runs in the fifth and sixth to take a 3-2 lead. They were threatening for more in the sixth, but MacNeil snuffed the rally inducing a 6-4-3 double play.

In the bottom of the sixth‎ the Terriers loaded the bases when Christian Bottero walked, Jack Iannuzzi was hit by a pitch and Ayden Cooke dropped a bunt single. Michael Manning was next in and he hit a chopper to the Royals third baseman that he mishandled, tying the game.

After the next two Terrier hitters made outs, it looked like the Royals would escape the inning with the game tied but Aiden Pickering dunked an RBI single into right field‎ for a 4-3 lead.
The Terriers got two insurance runs off the bat of red hot Matt Ward when he cranked his second double of the game down the right field line, scoring Manning and Pickering.

Michael Stremlaw came on to pitch a scoreless seventh to pick up the save.

‎The Terriers wrap up PBLO League play tomorrow at King's College.
