5th ANNUAL PINK IN THE RINK EVENT FRIDAY
Date: Feb 21, 2018
North York, Ontario – The North York Rangers are pleased to announce the signings of forwards Tyler Flack, Davis Park and Matthew Hubbarde, as well as defensemen Harrison Rees and Dante Fantauzzi.
Flack, 17, has spent the past few years in the GTA, playing his minor midget year with the Vaughan Kings before moving to the famed Toronto Marlboros last year. It was a great season for Flack, who played in the GTHL midget All-Star game back in January. Flack is a strong playmaker who’ll make an immediate impact with the Rangers once the season begins in September/
Park, 18, is no stranger to the OJHL or North York organization, having spent the past few years playing with the bantam, minor midget and midget team's. In 2016, Park, a big, strong winger, helped the Rangers win the Telus Cup as Canada's top midget team, capping off a season that saw him skate in eight games with the OJHL's Pickering Panthers. Park then went on to play 11 games with the OJHL Rangers, posting an assist in the regular season before skating in a game during the playoff series against the Oakville Blades.
Hubbarde, 17, also has experience in the OJHL, having skated in two games with the Whitby Fury a year ago. Hubbarde recorded a goal in his first game with the Fury, scoring his first goal against the Mississauga Chargers on November 26th.
Rees, an 11th round draft pick by the reigning OHL champions Erie Otters, played the past season with the Hill Academy's U16 Prep team, posting two golas and four points in 12 games. Just 17-years-old, the youngster committed to the University of Connecticut last season for the 2019-2020 campaign, an NCAA Division I school.
Fantauzzi, 17, had spent the past few seasons with the Toronto Marlboros, winning the OHL Cup in 2015 and a silver medal in 2016. A draft pick by the Oshawa Generals in 2016, Fantauzzi played in nine games with the Rangers during the regular season last year, a performance that earned him a spot on the playoff roster. In five games with North York, Fantauzzi recorded his first ever goal in Junior A, something he hopes to build off of during his OJHL rookie campaign.
The Rangers are pleased about their new signings and can’t wait for the OJHL campaign to kick off in September!
