BROCKTON, MA—June 9th, 2017—The Brockton Rox exploded at the plate tonight, scoring 9 runs on 13 hits in a home win against the North Shore Navigators. The Rox now have won back- to-back games for the first time this season.

The Navigators (0-6) put 1 run across in the top of the 4th but the Rox (3-2) would go on to score 6 in the bottom half of the inning. Kyle Simon got the inning started with a leadoff double and would later score on a RBI single by Daniel Jung. Joe Silva would single and Tommy O’Hara would walk, leading to a 2 RBI single by SNHU’s Kyle Ruth. Kyle Peterson added another RBI and Aldrich DeJongh rounded out the scoring in the inning with a 2 RBI single to bring the total to 6. The Rox would add 3 more runs in the bottom of the 8th led by a Kyle Simon triple that brought home Chris Berry.

North Shore struggled tonight against Rox pitching, only getting 2 runs on 5 hits. Cam Monagle began the game on the mound for the Rox and went 3.2 innings and gave up 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 4. Tonight’s winning pitcher was Notre Dame’s Zack Martin who came into pitch in the Top of the 5th and shut down the Navigators. Martin pitched 4 full innings, only giving up 1 run on 6 strikeouts.

The Rox will look to go for 3 wins in a row as they take on the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks tomorrow night at Campanelli Stadium. The two teams opened the season against each other last week, with the Sharks coming out on top by a score of 6-4. Fans are encouraged to come out tomorrow night and help the Rox welcome The Children’s workshop who are sponsoring Paw Patrol night at Campanelli Stadium!
