This past weekend, the Tritons organization came to play! All three teams were in action and they saw some good results as the clubs won 8 of their 10 games played (Prep and Senior team record 2 victories each with the Juniors winning 4) 

The Bantam Prep team made their way to the Island to take on the Victoria Eagles on Saturday and then the Victoria Mariners on Sunday.  The Eagles defeated our Prep Tritons 8 – 4 in game one and then completed the sweep with a tight 4 – 3 victory in  the 2nd game.  Sunday proved different for our Tritons as they got back into the winning ways and took two from the Mariners by scores of 8 – 3 and 11 – 0.

Next up for the Prep club will be the Coquitlam Reds at SSAP on Wednesday night with a 7pm start. The weekend will have them participate in the Langley Blaze tournament starting with a DH’er on the Friday.

Junior Tritons finally got back to action after an early season break in the schedule and kept their winning ways alive.  Off to an impressive 8 – 1 start, the Jr. Tritons took 2 from the Whalley Chiefs by the scores of 6 – 1 and 5 – 2 and then two more from the RedLegs of Coquitlam. Game one was a 14-3 victory and then a come-from-behind walk-off victory of 8 – 7 in game 2! The W’s bring their record to a league leading 12 – 1 mark along with leading the league in team ERA (1.90) and team Batting Average (.358). 

Next up for the Junior team is a rematch with the Coquitlam Redlegs on their turf Saturday, May 20th.

The Senior Tritons made their way to the Island this weekend as well as they had two games vs. the Royals of Parksville on Saturday and then a DH’er vs. the Mid-Island Pirates on Sunday.  With a 7 – 6 record and in the middle of the pack of the PBL standings, the Tritons improved their situation with a DH’er sweep of the Royals by taking game one 11 – 3 and then the nightcap 7 -2.  Unfortunately, the Sr. club didn’t get a chance to improve on their now 9 – 6 record as the weather washed out the Sunday games. 

Next up for the Sr. club will be a set of 4 games as they play a DH’er vs. the Chiefs on Saturday at their park and the Reds at our park on Sunday.
