Cornwall – Sebastian Dirven’s goal 1:15 into overtime pushed the Colts to a 4-3 win in the opener of the first round CCHL playoff series vs Smiths Falls.

The Bears had forced overtime with a late third period goal after Christopher Mammas had given the Colts a 3-2 lead.

Konnor MacCormick and Brennan Markell also scored for the Colts.

Cornwall outshot Smiths Falls 36-20 with Liam Lascelle picking up the goaltending victory.

Game two in the best-of-seven series is Friday night in Smiths Falls.  Game time is 7:30 at the Smiths Falls Arena.

The Colts and Bears return to Cornwall for game 3 Sunday evening.  Game time is 7pm at the Ed Lumley Arena.
