COLTS’ WINNING CONTINUES IN KEMPTVILLE

February 17th, 2017

CornwallGrant Cooper scored in overtime to lead the Colts to a 3-2 win in Kemptville for Cornwall’s eighth straight CCHL victory.

It was Cooper’s 25th goal of the season to go along with an assist.

Dean Derouchie (17) and Brennan Markell (18) each had a goal and an assist as the Colts improved to 36-13-2-3 (77pts).

Liam Lascelle made 32 saves to earn his 26th win of the season in goal.

The Colts kept pace with the Ottawa Jr Senators (who also won Friday night) for 2nd overall in the CCHL standings.  Both teams are 7 points behind league leading Carlton Place with 8 games to go in the regular season.

The victory does clinch the Colts home ice advantage for at least the first round of the CCHL playoffs.  The Colts and Jr Senators are 14 points up on 4th place Hawkesbury.

The Colts are back in action this Monday for their annual Family Day game.  The Colts welcome the Hawkesbury Hawks to the Ed Lumley Arena.  Game time is 3pm.
