Newport Gulls Announce 2017 Summer Schedule  

It is that time of the year again folks! The time when we can officially stop greeting each other with "Happy New Year" and begin to look towards what this year has in store. The Summer of 2017 will once again bring great family fun and even better baseball down at Cardines Field. Set for our 17th season here in Newport ,the Gulls kick off regular season play against the Bay Sox of New Bedford. Get ready to mark your calendars! Wednesday, June 7th at 6:35 will set our regular season campaign underway. All of our home games will be played throughout June and July on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays beginning at 6:35PM. These games will all be hosted at Cardines Field, located at 20 America's Cup Avenue, Newport, RI 02840. 

Each of the 13 teams in our league is slated to play 44 regular season games. The Newport Gulls will spend half of this time, 22 games, in the heart of Downtown Newport at Cardines Field, and the rest traveling around New England. Some of our players and coaches will be granted the honor of traveling to Joe Wolfe Field in North Adams, Massachusetts for the 2017 All- Star Game. North Adams last hosted the game in 2007 as over 4,000 fanatics packed their stands for a memorable night. This year the SteepleCats have teamed up with the NECBL to present the All- Star Game on Sunday, July 30th.

Some key games to look forward to this summer include our Southern Division and in-state rival Ocean State Waves coming to town on consecutive Wednesdays. June 21st, June 28th, and July 5th. 2016's NECBL Champion Mystic Schooners will travel up to Newport on Monday, June 12th, Monday, July 3rd, and again on Friday, July 7th. As a reminder, the Ocean State Waves will honor Newport Gulls season passes at Old Mountain Field in South Kingston, RI. The Gulls will do the same for Waves season ticket holders.
