COLTS ALUMNI NAMED HONORARY COACHES FOR CJHL PROSPECTS GAME
December 21st, 2016
Cornwall – Former Cornwall Colts stars Chad Kilger and Jesse Winchester have been named honorary coaches for the 10th annual CJHL Prospects Game being held in Cornwall next month.
The CJHL Prospects Game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25th @ 7pm @ Ed Lumley Arena. Forty of the top draft eligible Jr.A players from across Canada will converge on Cornwall for a combine day and hockey game to showcase their skills for more than 30 NHL scouts.
Kilger (1992-93) and Winchester (2001-2004) both starred for their hometown Colts before eventually playing in the NHL.
“I’m looking forward to seeing some of the most talented Jr.A players from across Canada in one game here in Cornwall,” said Kilger. “On the heels of the World Junior exhibition game, Cornwall is once again on the hockey map for events.”
“I’m honoured to be asked to take part in the event,” said Winchester. “Like Chad (Kilger), and as a former Jr. A player, I’m excited to see the talent and speed of the game from my front row seat behind the bench.”
Kilger played 12 seasons in the NHL including stops in Anaheim, Winnipeg/Phoenix, Chicago, Edmonton, Montreal and Toronto. Winchester spent six years in the NHL including playing in Ottawa, Florida and Colorado.
Tickets are $10 (adults) and $5 (Children 12 & Under) and are available at the Civic Complex box office as well as by e-mailing David Murphy dmurphy@bensonorg.com.
