Cornwall – Tanner Spink’s hat trick goal with 20 seconds left in regulation forced overtime but it wasn’t to be as Carleton Place beat the Colts 6-5 in overtime.
Spink now has 13 goals on the season. Jeremy McFarlane (4) and Dean Derouchie (9) also scored for the Colts. Matt Efros was tagged with the loss in goal. The Canadians outshot the Colts 35-33.
Cornwall’s record stands at 16-9-1-3 for 36 points and 5th overall in the CCHL standings.
The Wendy’s Restaurant 3 Stars were First Star Tanner Spink (COR), Second Star William Cullen (CP) and Third Star Justin Cmunt (CP).
The Colts travel to Gloucester to take on the Rangers Friday night. Game time is 7:30 at the Earl Armstrong Arena.
The Colts return home next Thursday, December 1st to face the Cumberland Grads. Game time is 7:30 at the Ed Lumley Arena.
Colts fans are encouraged to bring stuffed toys to participate in the annual Teddy Bear Toss during next Thursday’s game. When the Colts score their first goal, fans will be encouraged to throw their stuffed toys onto the ice. All stuffed toys will be donated to the Optimist Club’s Toy Drive.
