The Gloucester Rangers were proud and honoured to have as their special guest this evening, a retired 25 year military veteran Sargent Boots Boutilier.

Sargent Boutilier started his military carreer in 1955.  He was first posted in Egypt in 1963, during the crisis in Israel.  Between 1966 & 1967 he spent time in Vietnam, Saigon and Hanoi.

In 1973, he was posted back to Egypt to participate in the peacekeeping duties during the Israeli Egyptian Syrian conflict with the 73 Sigs unit.

Sargent Boutilier finished his career in 1980 at CFB Petawawa.

After retirement from the military Sargent Boutilier continued his career as an RCMP Special Constable.  His duties ranged from Embassy Escort to protecting the Prime Minister and the Governor General. 

Sargent Boutilier has continued his service after retirement, he had continued his service as a Sargent of Arms with the United Nations Peacekeepers Association of Ottawa since 1995.
