Hawks Go 2-1 on Opening Weekend

The Crimson Hawks secured 2 of 3 wins this weekend by beating Temple University and The College of New Jersey by a score of 3-2.  Both games were played in a similar grinding fasion with all teams playing with good defensive posture limiting oppurtunities. The Hawks managed to get the upper hand in both games with large contributions from freshman players. On the weekend Jon Spencer, Joey Keenan put home their first goals as a member of IUP hockey.  Trevor Mack had 2 goals Friday night in the game agaisnt Temple, with Leo Blore adding another.  

In the 6-0 loss to WPU, the Hawks could not muster any offense as they tried to keep the game within reach.  IUP had its chances to tie the game and could not convert before eventually going into the locker room down 3-0 after to.  WPU managed to open things up in the 3rd and finshed the period with three more. 

The Hawks look to keep improving next weekend in thier CHMA opening weekend with rivals West Virginia Friday night in Morgantown and Saturday at Home vs Slippery Rock!!!!
