Eastern Ontario Wild Major Peewee Capture Silver Medal at the 2015 All Ontario Championships

The Eastern Ontario Wild Major Peewee 2K2 finished their magical season by capturing a Silver Medal at the 2015 All Ontario Championships this past weekend in Aliston Ontario.

After finishing the round robin in third place with a 3-2-1 record, the Wild redeemed themselves by upsetting the Oakville Rangers by a score of 3-2 in the semi final, scoring the eventual game winner with just over one minute left in regulation.

The task in the Gold Medal game was daunting as the team met the number one ranked team in Canada, the heavily favoured Toronto Marlies, who had disposed of the host York Simcoe Express 6-0 in the other semi final.

But this Wild team has never backed down from a challenge and went punch for punch with the powerhouse Marlies eventually losing 2-1 in an epic gold medal match up.

This season, the EO Wild Major Peewee team won 2 tournaments including the Big Nickel in Sudbury and the Bell Capital Cup here in Ottawa.

They followed those wins up with a regular season OEMHL AAA championship posting an impressive 19-6-3 record before winning the OEMHL AAA Peewee playoff championship with a 7-1-1 record.

Now the boys can add a silver medal at provincials!  What a Wild ride the 2014/2015 season has been.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches and staff!
