League set to kick-off 2016-17 Season with three games on Opening Night.

The Major Arena Soccer League 2016-17 regular season will begin the weekend of Oct. 28, 2016 and end no later than March 5, 2017. The league will kick-off its third season Saturday Oct. 29th with three teams home openers set on the schedule.

The Dallas Sidekicks, San Diego Sockers and Tacoma Stars will all host games as part of the league’s annual opening night. The full league schedule will be released in the upcoming weeks as well as division and conference lineups.

Our coaching staff has been working really hard this summer to select the best local talent and is building an exciting team for the fans to enjoy & get behind. We look forward to seeing our fans back at the Allen Event Center on October 29th.” said Dallas Sidekicks Owner, Bob Heckel.

San Diego Sockers new General Manager Sean Bowers said, “I am beyond excited for the upcoming season. This being my first year as General Manager, I am on a mission to make the fan experience better than ever. The home opener is always a good time and I cannot wait to welcome the fans back to the VVCC on October 29th.”

Tacoma Stars Head Coach Darren Sawatzky added, "We are looking forward to opening the 2016-2017 MASL season at the ShoWare Center. Our first year in the league was incredible and the fans make the experience a night to remember every single home game. We are going to pack the house and we welcome our fans back on October 29th."

MASL OPENING DAY SCHEDULE - Saturday October 29, 2016

   •  Dallas vs. TBD at Allen Event Center, Allen, TX
   •  San Diego Sockers vs. TBD at Valley View Casino Center, San Diego, CA
   •  Tacoma Stars vs. TBD at ShoWare Arena, Kent, WA

Newly appointed MASL Commissioner Joshua Schaub added, "We enter the 2016-17 MASL season through these three exciting kickoff games. This season will bring fans another level of arena soccer both from the players and entertainment. I can't think of three better venues to bring those to our fans."
