Johnson stymies Cumberland, Brockville wins 4-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Henry Johnson helped the Brockville Braves defeat the Cumberland Grads, 4-1.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Cumberland faces elimination next time out.

Brockville was paced by Liam Folkes, who registered one goal. Folkes scored 10:46 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Brockville. Jack Billings assisted on the tally.

Brockville additionally got points from Michael Murray, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Neil Robinson, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Brockville also got a goal from Jack Gill as well. In addition, Brockville received assists from Chris Chaddock and Cameron Crotty, who contributed one each.

The Grads' offense rang up 36 shots on the Braves' net. Cumberland did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

The Grads were led by Branden Makara, who scored the team's only goal. Makara scored 9:01 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Brockville. Joey Sollazzo provided the assist.

Johnson recorded 35 saves for Brockville. The Braves incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Cumberland's Thierry Messervier stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Grads registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
