Brown leads Dorchester to shutout victory over Lambeth

Riley Brown recorded a shutout against the Lambeth Lancers as the Dorchester Dolphins picked up a 9-0 win.

The win gave Dorchester a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Lambeth's power play was ineffective against the Dolphins' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 14:16 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Dorchester's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Lambeth power plays. The Dolphins' offense rang up 51 shots on the Lancers' net.

Dorchester was helped by Tim Pieper, who tallied one goal. Pieper scored 8:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dorchester. Mark Brisson picked up the assist. Dorchester also got points from Jay Ritchie, who also finished with two goals and one assist and Ryan Tuffin, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Ryan Root also scored for Dorchester. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Jordan Fuller, who had two, Zach Robertson, who had three, Chris Carreiro, who had four, and Michael Blue, Tyler Blue, and Brett Van Dusen, who each chipped in one.

Lambeth forced the Dolphins goalie Brown to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots.

Riley Brown made 50 saves for Dorchester on 50 shots. The Dolphins totaled 59 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For Dorchester, Van Dusen was ejected from the game. The Lancers' Ryan Wilson stopped 42 shots out of the 51 that he faced. Lambeth ended with 53 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major. The Lancers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brad Cousins was ejected from the game.
