Diclemente leads Pembroke to shutout victory over Hawkesbury

Boyd Diclemente was superb between the pipes for the Pembroke Lumber Kings, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Hawkesbury Hawks.

Alex Gilmour was all over the ice for Pembroke, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Gilmour scored on the power play 17:02 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Pembroke. The Lumber Kings had gotten the advantage when Hawkesbury's Bruno Cheff was sent off for tripping. Brett Horn provided the assist.

Pembroke put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hawks to score on any of their seven power plays. The Lumber Kings' defensive play was more effective than usual against Hawkesbury. Pembroke averages 2.6 goals allowed per game. The Lumber Kings could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Pembroke also got a goal from Chris Minns as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Justin Felhaber, who had two and Fraser Turner, Derek Varrin, and Tyler ONeill, who contributed one each.

The Hawks could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Hawkesbury averages 3.6 goals per game. The Hawks kept Pembroke's goalie busy throughout the game, and Diclemente made 40 saves on 40 shots.

The Lumber Kings registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Cole Skinner made 20 saves for Hawkesbury on 23 shots. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
