Bantam Minor 02's Capture Third Straight HPHL Title

For the 3rd straight year the Little Caesars 2002 team captured the HPHL Championship title.  Led by Head Coach Kris Draper (assisted by Paul Moretz and Craig Roehl) the team swept the competition in round-robin play with wins over Team Illinois (10-0), Honeybaked (3-1) and Compuware (6-1).

On Sunday the team kept it rolling with a 3-2 win over the Chicago Young Americans in the morning semi-final.  The finals featured an all Detroit showdown verses a familiar round-robin opponent; Honeybaked.  The Little Caesars team turned up the heat early on, and cruised to a 4-0 shutout to capture the HPHL Playoff Championship.  The coaches were very pleased by the effort and intensity over the weekend led by forwards DJ Dixon, Tiernan Shoudy, Grant Hindman, Mark Estapa, Kienan Draper, Garrett Szydlowski, Carter Mazur, Dominic James and Tanner Kelly.  The Little Caesars team out shot every opponent they faced over the weekend credited to the hard work of defensemen: Travis Shoudy, Nick O'Hanisain, Dakota Kott, Hunter Hatcher, Jacob Truscott and Jacob Bauer.  Goalies Xavier Medina and Luke Beally tag teamed the competition by surrendering only five goals over the entire five game weekend.

This latest achievement adds to the previous championships won this year to include the Little Caesars Fall Challenge and the Detroit Warrior tournaments.  Congratulations to the Little Caesars Bantam Minor AAA team on a great season thus far.
