Boyd Diclemente stood on his head and made 38 saves to lead the Pembroke Lumber Kings to a 3-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators.
Pembroke was paced by Chris Minns, who registered one goal. Minns scored 5:17 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Pembroke. Nicolas Vlahos assisted on the tally.
The Lumber Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Ottawa power plays.
Pembroke also had goals scored by Derek Varrin and Adam Beveridge, who each put in one. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Johnny Kyte, Tyler ONeill, Ben VanOoteghem, Justin Felhaber, and Brett Horn, who each chipped in one.
Ottawa did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Senators put an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. Ottawa forced Pembroke goalie Diclemente to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.
The Senators were led by Isaac Anderson, who scored the team's only goal. Anderson scored 2:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa. Jaren Burke picked up the assist.
The Lumber Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ian Andriano rejected 18 shots on goal for Ottawa. The Senators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
