MABF TEN Point Bulletin

Date:  Source: Macomb Amateur Baseball Federation

For 2016 MABF will include your team’s Insurance in the annual registration fee therefore making it easier on managers, coaches and organizations.  The league fee with insurance will be $500, plus payment of $200 performance deposit as in the past.  Teams with performance deposits in trust need not pay the $200.  Regular registration will be open from October 1 through December 15, 2015 (the optimal date to send payment and register would be by December 1st to have access to your 2016 Insurance documentation by January 1, 2016).

Teams who win their division in 2016 will pay only $200 for the 2017 season which will include their insurance, second place teams will pay only $300 and third place teams will only pay $400.

All teams will be sanctioned with USSSA and we will continue our affiliation with AABC as well as other sanctioning bodies.

We will attempt to reduce the number of games in the 13&U division to a maximum of 20 games, as we have noticed that teams are having some trouble completing their schedules. Teams playing in the 14&U division and above will ideally have schedules between 14 and 16 games, with a maximum of 18 games, as not to conflict with MHSAA seasons.  18&U will have 12, 14 or possibly 16 game schedule.

All teams will be able to add non-MABF players all year long and will be able to call up players from a younger team as limited by the MABF rules, thus avoiding forfeits.

The 9&U league will be set up in two divisions, one being “advance” which will be regular baseball and one being “open” which will have similar rules to last year’s 8&U league heavily restricting the running game.

Opportunities to get more players involved in the games are being added.

  • Option to use 9 player batting order, a 10 player batting order or continuous

batting order for all ages, but must be declared before the start of game.

  • All teams will still have the option to bat only nine players.
  • Courtesy runners for pitcher and catcher will be the last out or a player who has not yet entered the game, however it will not be mandatory to use a courtesy runner for the pitcher or catcher.

All teams will be able to use all MABF NEW features.

  • MABF - Tryout posting
  • MABF – Team needs players posting
  • MABF teams will have access to all the players that are in search of a team.
  • New Umpire Database with Major assigners.

There will be an additional late registration fee of $100 if registering between December 16, 2015 and January 10, 2016 and your continuous insurance coverage will be compromised as your insurance will not go into effect until February 1, 2016.  Absolutely no registrations will be accepted after January 10, 2016.

Everyone has agreed that the automated registration for this past season as well as completing their rosters online was much easier than the past years.  We will continue with this format in the future.  The scoring systems is running very smoothly and will continue to be able to make rescheduling games easier.

More 2016 registration information will begin to be posted on or around September 24th.
