From a child’s first time at bat to their first time pitching, parents play an integral role in developing young athletes. The time and dedication required by players to be successful is often mirrored in their parents’ commitment to the team. Being a baseball player’s parent is a busy job. Uniforms need to be cleaned, equipment adjusted, and cleats tied. Baseball is an opportunity to develop dedication, work ethic, and team work. Your support in their quest to continually develop as athletes is greatly recognized. The way a child’s face lights up when they pick out their first bat, helmet, or glove exhibits the importance of the game.

When your child looks to the stands and sees your face, they recognize the same excitement and pride on your face. Please understand the impact you have in their lives by encouraging and allowing them to play the game. The skills they are developing are helping them to grow as players and people. By trusting the judgment of their coach, you are demonstrating the importance of respect. When you shuffle work around to make it to a game, you are teaching them priorities. Showing up to practices and tournaments reminds them that family is important. Baseball often becomes a commonality between a child and their father, which further grows your impact in areas of their life.

On behalf of baseball players – both big and small, little or tall – thank you for your continued support in the world of baseball. Your contribution adds to your child’s life, their team, and to your community.
