ESL Team takes 2nd place!


Ice Line, West Chester, PA – The OJR Wildcats ESL team lost to Shanahan 5-4 in the B Division Championship Game. A competitively played game by both teams, that saw both teams getting good scoring chances and back and forth play. Shanahan opened thescoring in late in the first period to go up 1-0. Shanahan then went up 2-0 early in the second period. Kieran Coyne put the Wildcats on the scoreboard 30 seconds later cutting into the lead 2-1 with an unassisted goal. Shanahan went up 3-1 at the 8 minute mark of the middle frame. The Wildcats refused to go away and Alex Walsberg scored an unassisted goal to make the lead 3-2 late in the period. Kieran Coyne tied the game with his second goal of the game 51 seconds into the third period, unassisted. Shanahan’s Joey Kish, put his team back up 4-3 just over 4 minutes later. That lead was short lived as the Wildcats’ Ethan Bochanski tied the game at 4-4 when he finished off a Ned Farnham pass. As the see-saw battle continued, just over a minute later Joey Kish put Shanahan up for good at 5-4 with his second goal of the game when he beat Shane Towler with a wrist shot. Quinn Rafter and Shane Towler split time in goal, with Shane Towler picking up the loss. Shots on goal were 12-12. A great game by both teams, but Shanahan was able to pull through. This is the second straight second place finish for the Wildcats Elementary team. Great Season!
