Milton Icehawks alternate captain Jeremy Gottzmann (photo credit - Brian Watts/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Carleton University Ravens beginning with the 2014-15 OUA season.
Gottzmann got his OJHL start after spending two and a half seasons in the OHL with the Erie Otters and Peterborough Petes, joining the Burlington Cougars midway through the 2011-12 season and recording 10 points in only 8 games played. The following year saw Gottzmann named captain of his hometown squad and he did not disappoint, leading the club with 28 goals and 63 points in 46 games played, while playing with a physical edge that saw him record 138 penalty minutes. He would also be named to the OJHL West Division All-Star Team that competed at the 2012 Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge that was held in Wellington, Ontario.
After kicking off this season on a tear, firing home 10 goals in 10 games for the Cougars, Gottzmann was traded to the Milton Icehawks and instantly became one of the club's leaders. He finished the season second in scoring on the club with near identical stats of the previous season, notching 29 goals and 63 points in 38 games played to help Milton postion themselves well for a strong post-season run by finishing third in the West Division standings.
Congratulations to Jeremy and best of luck in the OUA!
