Lake Tahoe hangs on, beats Russia 2-0

The Lake Tahoe Blue beat Russia, 2-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

Scott Harrington provided Lake Tahoe with the game-winning tally when he scored 10 seconds into the first period. Freddie Hamilton assisted on the tally.

Harrington had two goals to lead the Blue to victory.

Russia's Sergey Kostenko could not handle what Lake Tahoe threw at him, as the Blue netted their goals off of three.

Lake Tahoe's offense revolved around and Harrington, who put and two shots on net. The Blue's defensemen were a huge part of the offense, scoring two goals and taking two shots.

Other players who recorded assists for Lake Tahoe were Daniel Catenacci and Tanner Pearson, who each chipped in one.

Russia managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Russia finished below its season average of 3.0 penalty minutes per game.

Lake Tahoe ended with no penalties and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Russia registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
