Brooke grew up in Corvallis, played on the Corvallis Richey's Market 1990 American legion World Series club, played football and baseball at Crescent Valley High School and at Oregon State, and also played baseball at Western Oregon University.

He played professionally in the Milwaukee and Pittsburgh minor-league organizations. and coached baseball professionally in Australia where he met his wife, Karlie.

This past winter Brooke coached the Perth Heat in the MLB-funded Australian Baseball League. He also assisted legendary Corvallis Richey's Market American Legion coach Dick McClain for six seasons, and worked as a scout in the San Diego area for the Montreal Expos (2001) and the Florida Marlins (2002-2003).

Brooke skippered the Knights to their first West Coast League crown as a rookie head coach in 2008. He also directed them to three consecutive West Division regular-season titles, and to the 2009 WCL Championship Series.

Knight was the West Coast League Coach of the Year in 2008 and 2009. He begins his fourth season as the Knights' field general with a 125-48 (.723) overall record, and a 100-38 (725) mark in West Coast League games. This is Brooke's sixth year in management with the Knights.

No relation to the Knight family, he and Karlie have a son, Briley.
