Doyle was a key contributor for the Cavaliers again in 2016, making 22 appearances and starting 7 times, going 2-7 with a 5.06 ERA. He struck out 51 batters while only walking 19. Doyle pitched in 16 games out of the bullpen in 2015 for the Cavaliers. He saw considerable playing time in the postseason, throwing 3.2 scoreless innings in the NCAA tournament, inlcuding one inning in the College World Series. Doyle also played for the Swamp Bats in 2015, appearing in six games and starting four of them. In 13 innings of work, he tossed 13 strikeouts and finished with a 4.84 ERA. Doyle was selected by the Washington Nationals in the 35th round of the 2014 MLB Draft. Doyle is the son of George and Laura Doyle.
