This is Sousa’s second consecutive summer with the Swamp Bats. Last season, he made five appearances on the mound, including three starts. In 16.2 innings of work, Sousa only gave up three earned runs while recording 11 strikeouts and eight walks. At Virginia, Sousa made seven appearances out of the bullpen in 2015, having scoreless outings in six of those seven appearances. He was named Second Team All-American by ‘Perfect Game’ in 2014. He was also named to Palm Beach Post’s All-Area Team in all four years of his high school career. Sousa is the son of John and Erika Sousa.
